Property prices are very competitive, as compared to the developed European countries – much lower than in Spain, for instance. Eating out in Austria is highly affordable, if you avoid the more expensive tourist restaurants and the Ski resorts and are directly comparable with Spain, France, Greece and Portugal. It’s central location makes traveling to France, Italy and the Adriatic coast and of course Germany very easy and quick – whether by car or train.

In Carinthia alone, there are some 44 major Lakes – some of which are thermally heated. In Austria, traditional family values are still very much in evidence in all aspects of the culture. It has one of the lowest crime rates in Europe and a high level of employment. Immigration, outside of the EEC, is carefully controlled.
