Retiretoaustria.com was formed as a direct result of the time and research that the we put in, before embarking on purchasing a retirement house in Carinthia (Karnten) for ourselves. We also benefited from 5 years previous experience of running a similar operation in Andalucia – www.alhamavillages.com . We have found out the hard way how much time and money can be wasted meeting with Agents to look at properties that:-

Did not come close to meeting the brief given to the Agent!
Were in a location that a little local knowledge would have ruled out!
Had already been sold, without notifying us in advance of our meeting!
Suffered a price increase – as soon as an “expat” was known to be interested.

From the outset, we decided that we would only work with carefully selected Estate Agents, who have a clear and unambiguous client contract – which defines the selling price and what their commission will be.

We have worked hard to develop relationships with Estate Agents who offer an intimate knowledge of all the villages and the, distinct, region of Carinthia that we represent. We do not cover areas of Austria, where we have insufficient knowledge to offer a good standard of service to our clients

Unlike Estate Agents, who work on behalf of the seller, we are a wholly independent property search company dedicated to working for you - The Buyer.

We contact you to confirm details and feasibility within your budget
We undertake a detailed search for suitable properties
We arrange for you to view relevant properties, at a mutually agreed time and date
On completion, the Estate Agent pays us a percentage of their commission - you pay nothing
